Lucien Pissarro was a French born Neo-Impressionist painter that spent much of his life living in England as a British citizen. Employing short brushstrokes and a muted palette, Pissarro created light-filled depictions of the British countryside including many in and around East Knoyle. Born on February 20, 1863 in Paris, France, he was the eldest son of the famed Impressionist Camille Pissarro.
